So, you’re checking out the Federal College of Education, Yauri? Good choice.

You’ve probably just finished WAEC or you’re looking at your JAMB score and wondering what’s next. Let’s get straight to the point. We’ve compiled the official list of courses offered at Federal College of Education, Yauri for the 2025/2026 admission session.

This isn’t just a list. I’ll also give you some real-talk tips on what you actually need to get in.

First Things First: Can You Get In?

Before you start dreaming of your NCE, let’s be real. You can’t just pick a course and show up. You need to meet the requirements.

A lot of students think getting the JAMB cut-off mark is the only thing that matters. It’s not.

Here’s the minimum you’ll need:

  1. O’Levels: You must have your WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results. This means at least five (5) credit passes in the right subjects, and this must include English Language and Mathematics. And yes, it’s in not more than two sittings.
  2. JAMB: You must have written the last UTME and scored at or above the official JAMB cut-off mark for Colleges of Education. This score can change, so don’t bank on last year’s mark. (If your score is in that range, we have a helpful list of schools that accept 160-180 JAMB scores).
  3. Post-UTME: You will also have to participate in and pass the FCE Yauri Post-UTME screening. Don’t sleep on this; it’s a crucial step.

What About Degree Programmes (B.Ed.)?

This is a question I get all the time. “Can I do my B.Ed. degree at FCE Yauri?”

Right now, Federal College of Education, Yauri is focused on its main job: awarding the NCE.

However, it’s very common for established federal colleges to affiliate with a nearby university (like Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, for example) to run Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree programmes. This is fantastic for NCE holders who want to do a “top-up” or Direct Entry.

We’ll keep our ears to the ground and will update this post the second any degree programme is officially approved.

My Tips for a Smooth Application (Don’t Make These Mistakes)

Seeing the list is easy. Getting the admission is the real work. Here’s my advice.

  • Your Subject Combination is King. This is where many students mess up. You can’t apply for Maths/Physics if you have a D7 in Chemistry or Physics. Your O’Level and JAMB subject combinations must match the requirements for your chosen course. No shortcuts. Don’t even think about funny business, as examination malpractice has serious effects.
  • Use the Official Sources Only. Don’t rely on campus gist or some random post on a forum. Your two “bibles” should be the official JAMB website (for the brochure) and the FCE Yauri official portal. Bookmark them.
  • Master Your JAMB CAPS. After all the screening, your admission will eventually be posted on the JAMB Central Admission Processing System (CAPS). It’s not automatic. You need to know how to accept or reject your admission on CAPS when the time comes.

That’s the list. Choosing a course is a big deal, and becoming a professional teacher is a powerful career path. FCE Yauri, as a federal institution, gives you a solid foundation.

Do your research, get your documents right, and go for it.

Good luck!
